Hello and welcome to my "How To Build a Weebly Portfolio" Guide! In this portfolio I explain how to create a free education portfolio using Weebly. My directions are always in Italics so you know where to look for "how to's."
Weebly Teaching Portfolio Video Demonstration First watch the following video about how to create a free Weebly Teaching Portfolio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGVJgABF-Rw (Close captioned) Now let's get started! To begin, I named my portfolio something easy for me to remember. Then I picked an existing theme, one where the pages run across the top. There are several existing themes you can pick from that have the pages that run across the top. (This makes it easier for the users to find pages.) Directions for how to select a header picture that you want to use (like the one above of the children looking at a book) are on the page titled Customize Pages. Once you get into Weebly, you can even replace the header picture with a picture of your own if you like! This is a text box for my narrative to introduce myself to the people who will read my portfolio. To get this text box, I went to the left bar and clicked on "Text" and dragged it here to this space. To add the text, just copy and paste from your word document. When you are working in the text box, an options box will appear above it so you can bold, use italics, underline, increase the size, decrease the size, change the color, etc. To add the picture on the left, I clicked on "Image" on the left bar and dragged it to the space where I wanted the picture and then uploaded the picture from my computer. Remember to click the blue "Publish" button in the upper right corner to save your changes! Example Text: Hello, and Welcome to My Education Portfolio! My name is Theri Wyckoff (pronounced Teri Y-koff), and I teach EDU 220 Principles of Education Psychology & EDU 280 Valuing Cultural Diversity for the Education Department at the College of Southern Nevada. In my free time, I like to research and write about Harry Potter. Here is a quote from one of my favorite Harry Potter characters, Professor Dumbledore: "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." J.K.
